Federico De Majo
Designer and master glassmaker Federico De Majo is the creative force behind the Zafferano brand, where Murano’s glassmaking heritage meets a fresh, distinctive aesthetic. From the elegant Bilia collection of glasses and bottles to the refined Soffio lamp, his creations blend color, elegance, and functionality—poetically reimagining the way we experience the table and light.
Born in Venice and trained in the furnaces of Murano, De Majo absorbed the art of blown glass from an early age. Following the untimely passing of his father, he took over the family business and, in 2001, founded Zafferano, charting a new course in tableware and lighting design. In 2005, he further expanded his vision with the launch of Zafferano Lampes à Porter, a portable lighting line. He also collaborates with renowned international brands, including Nemo.
