Ionna Vautrin was born in 1979 in France. Her design is characterized by the fusion of industry and poetry: this combination gives rise to lamps, furniture and objects with a cheerful and colorful spirit. Examples of this concept are: the Binic table lamp for Foscarini, a small "domestic lighthouse" and the Chouchin collection, with simple and minimalist suspension lamps that merge tradition and modernity.
The designer graduated from the Nantes Atlantique Design School in 2002. After her graduation, she began working for Camper in Spain, at George J. Sowden’s studios in Italy and at Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec’s studios in France. In 2011, she opened her own studio after winning the “Grand Prix de la Création" in Paris in 2011. Ionna Vautrin believes in the importance of designing everyday objects that emphasize simplicity, while being obvious and surprising.
