Jørn Utzon

Born in Copenhagen in 1918, Jørn Utzon is one of Denmark's best-known architects of the 20th century. Most noted for creating the Sydney Opera House in the 1960s, he has produced many masterpieces throughout his career. These include the Bagsværd Church and the Can Lis house in Mallorca, a luminous oasis by the sea, quite different from his cold and foggy Danish homeland. In the field of lighting, he created the Utzon JU1 lamp for &Tradition, inspired by his father's naval engineering drawings.

Among major awards, Jørn Utzon boasts winning the Pritzker Prize in 2003.
