Julien De Smedt
Creator of his JDSA studio - JDS Architects in 2006, founded in 2006 and currently active in Brussels and Copenhagen, Julien De Smedt is a renowned architect and contemporary designer. Following the artistic family tradition, he attended the famous Bartlett School of Architecture in Londra. Copenaghen is undoubtedly the epicenter of his artistic career, the very first city that admired and embraced his work, known and appreciated all over the world.
The partnerships with OMA in Rotterdam and with Bjarke Ingels for the co-foundation of PLOT, an architecture office firm in Copenaghen, granted Julien De Smedt a brilliant professional life since its early career. He was awarded important prizes such as the Henning Larsen Prize in 2003 and the Maritime Youth House in 2004. In 2011 he was awarded the WAN-World Architecture News ʼ21 for 21'.
