Matteo Thun
Matteo Thun is a designer and architect born in Bolzano in 1952, his artistic concept focuses on the creation of connections between a linear, expressively pure object, space and its inhabitants. He studied at the Salzburg Academy and graduated in architecture at the University of Florence. He boasts some great professional connections, such as the one with Ettore Sottass which led him to the co-creation of the Memphis Group. Before founding his studio, he also worked as a professor in Vienna.
In 2001, the fructuos meeting with several renowned designers such as Luca Colombo and Antonio Rodriguez led Matteo Thun to the creation in 2003 of the Matteo Thun & Partners company. The artist was awarded countless prizes among which three Compasso d’Oro awards, and currently collaborates with globally renowned brands such as Illy and Venini. Its design concept is renewed every year focusing on study and research, careful cost engineering and environmental sensitivity.
