Nigel Coates
Renowned architect and designer, Nigel Coates is the artist behind countless artworks and a brilliant projectual philosophy. After graduating from the Architectural Association, he moved his first steps in some important artistic contexts, and he was fascinated in particular by the architectural world of urban life.
Widely known for its production of furniture and lighting design collections, Nigel Coates works with renowned Italian brands such as Alessi, Ceramica Bardelli, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Fornasetti and many more. Among his most experimental exhibitions there are Ecstacity at the Architecture Association in 1992, Mixtacity at Tate Modern in 2007, Hypnerotosphere at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2008, and Picaresque at the Triennale Design Museum in 2012.
