Richard Hutten

Always pushing the boundaries of design, Richard Hutten ranks among the most brilliant Dutch designers. Renowned for his playful and conceptual style, he is a true innovator of the furniture and lighting world. Among his most appealing products, the Dandelion lamps for Moooi, marked by a powerful dramatic presence that conveys an almost explosive feeling, and the Pitagora collection of lamps that display a suggestive effect of 3D shapes for Qeebo. Another meaningful piece is S.E.C. (Sottsass Easy Chair), a Limited Edition for De Rosso.

Born in the Netherlands in 1967, Richard Hutten graduated at the Design Academy in Eindhoven in 1991, the same year he started his own design studio, where he works with a team of experts. Hutten is also among the founders and an influential personality of “Droog Design”, a renowned Danish design movement. Many of his creations are part of the permanent collections of over 40 international museums, such as the famous MoMA in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
