Ross Lovegrove
Ross Lovegrove is a visionary designer, a great innovator that started a profound evolution in our physical relationship with tridimensionality. His work field ranges from lighting to furniture design, and is inspired by logic and the beauty of nature, mixed with technology, material science and intelligent organic form. His artistic concept is considered to be a new aesthetic expression of the 21st century, radiated by some great masterpieces such as the Cosmic Leaf, Cosmic Angel and Mercury lamps, designed for Artemide.
The designer was born in Cardiff in 1958, and graduated from Manchester Polytechnic in 1980. He soon became Master of Design of Royal College of Art, London in 1983. After working in Germany, Ross Lovegrove joins the Atelier de Nimes with Jean Nouvel and Phillipe Stark. He won several international awards and many of his creations are exhibited at important museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA), the Design Museum, London and the Vitra Design Museum Weil Am Rhein in Basel, Switzerland.
