Salvador Dalí

Salvador Dalí was one of the most acclaimed artists of Surrealism, an avant-garde artistic and literary movement born in 1920. Famous for his Surrealist paintings and works, he stood out for his eccentric style, centered on the theme of the unconscious. In the field of design, we remember the Leda sculpture table and the Dalilips mouth-shaped sofa, a surrealist, eccentric and visionary sculpture designed with Oscar Tusquets in 1972. Both have been reproduced by the brand BD Barcelona Design.

Known for his spontaneous art, he skillfully applied the concept of Surrealism to each of his works.

With his nonconformist, brilliant and unconventional personality, Salvador Dalí was the pioneer of the Surrealist movement.
Born in 1904 in Figueres, Spain, Salvador Dalí studied at the Madrid academy. In the 1920s he spent time in Paris with Picasso, Magritte and Miró, which led to his first Surrealist period. Genius and delirium, dream and madness, are the main themes of his works, which left indelible traces within the world of Surrealist art. Salvador Dalí loved surprising others: in addition to being a painter and sculptor, he was also a photographer, screenwriter, filmmaker, and writer. He passed away in 1989.
