Sami Kallio
The designer Sami Kallio was born in Finland and grew up in Sweden. His projects give rise to pieces that combine traditional Finnish design with the humour of Swedish tradition. Among the most famed Sami Kallio’s creations there are the In Between chair and table for &Tradition, that represent his proficient woodworking skills.
Born in 1975 in Helsinki, Sami Kallio learned the artisanal woodworking tradition in Sweden, such as compression moulding and woodturning, and graduated from the School of Design and Crafts of Göteborg in 2005. In that city, Sami Kallio opened his studio, where he deals with furniture and interior design. His flair transforms classic shapes into contemporary expressions, with an industrial aesthetic value that recalls modernity.
