Simon Legald

Young, curious and talented, Simon Legald is a Danish designer born in 1986. Graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenaghen, in 2012, he has shown immediately an extraordinary ability to put in dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. Legald’s projects highlight a remarkable honesty that brings him to combine functional aspects, psychic and aesthetic needs. Simple and essential shapes define the identity of the objects without useless details, in which structural features are able to communicate the idea behind product. From the beginning of his career, the thirty-year-old designer collaborated with the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen, realizing a great number of articles like the Form series. The idea is about an integrated system chair, developed starting from a project presented at the university, and improved within three years. Inspired by materials, shapes and creations and with values such as honesty, integrity and originality, Simon Legald aims to create products that last. This makes his works be true masterpieces, expression of a flexible design without compromises.
