Tom Dixon Designer
Tunisian blood, English soul. Tom Dixon was born in Sfax, Tunisia, and moved to England in 1963. Instinctive, rebellious and unconventional, his design concept completely imaginative. His creative soul has given shape to important projects that range from furniture to lighting and home decor. A perfect example is the famed S-Chair designed for Cappellini; or the majestic Melt, Beat, Mirror Ball, Copper, Spring, Void, Bell, Stone and Cut lamps, produced by Tom Dixon, the brand that carries his name.
Tom Dixon's works perfectly express his love of storytelling.

Tom Dixon creates what he instinctively thinks, turning the ordinary into something exceptional.
An engineering and revolutionary mind, always in step with the times. Tom Dixon studied at the Chelsea School of Art, but he left it to follow his instinct. Polyhedral and without rules, he entered the show business with the funk-disco band Funkapolitan. This experience drove him to meet people and their needs: hence the interest for the world of design. His extraordinary self-taught intellect gave rise to an internationally renowned brand.
