Lladró Ermine and Crane Wand Set Designed by Susana Rodriguez

Ermine and Crane is a set of porcelain chopstick rests, the result of a collaboration between Lladró and the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum, among Spain's leading art centres.

The collection draws inspiration from masterpieces of Western painting in the museum, including Vittore Carpaccio's painting "Young Knight in a Landscape," made in 1505. Numerous natural elements and animals appear in this Renaissance work, rich in symbolism and detail. Prominent among them are an ermine and a crane, chosen to be reinterpreted by Lladró in an essential and elegant form, designed to create a set that combines art and everyday use. The two figures are moulded in polished porcelain, with fluid, minimalist lines that enhance their grace. The crane, an emblem of vigilance and longevity, and the ermine, a symbol of purity, are transformed into objects of refined design, meant to accompany the table with style and discretion. The set includes four wooden chopsticks, completing an accessory that blends culture and art. A small tribute to the history of art that finds a new expression in the contemporary table, transforming a utilitarian object into a distinctive sign of style.
