Flexia takes its name from papiroflexia, the technique used to fold papyrus, recalling the Japanese art of origami. Flexia was born from the encounter between Artemide's lighting know-how and Mario Cucinella's experience in sustainable design, whose work pursues a continuous and constant attention to sustainability issues. The section of the acoustic panel controls the reverberation by absorbing the sound waves reflected in the environment, while the patented technology of Discovery, born from a research by Ernesto Gismondi on the quality of the light that animates the transparent emitting surface, generates a diffused emission of uniform light. and comfortable that also complies with UGR standards for application in work spaces .. The flexible wings of Flexia are equipped with a mechanism that allows them to rotate from 0 ° to 15 ° to 30 °, improving the interaction with the environment. Form and materials are selected to hit the frequencies of human language; the result is a beauty that comes from parametric and functional intelligence combined with design. This is accompanied by a very careful choice of materials in respect of the environment, in particular the sound-absorbing part is made with recycled fibers, the external fabric comes 100% from recycled PET bottles, while the internal panel comes from waste materials. Flexia has been designed to improve the quality of environments, generating an efficient combination for every lighting need.
