Gubi GUBI 3D Dining Chair Designed by Komplot Design

The GUBI 3D collection, designed by Komplot Design, is the result of a dialogue between technical innovation and essential form. First to industrially adopt 3D veneer molding, it marked a pivotal shift in contemporary furniture production. The range includes dining chair, lounge chair, bar stool, and counter stool, conceived for both domestic and contract use.

At the heart of the collection is a lightweight shell, crafted in ultra-thin FSC®-certified oak or American walnut veneer. Thanks to 3D-molding, the wood thickness is reduced to just 5.5 mm, preserving strength and comfort. The ergonomic profile curves gently away from the body, eliminating hard edges.

Alongside the veneer version, the collection features an outdoor-ready chair in recycled plastic, made from over 50% post-consumer and industrial waste, with added UV protection.

All versions are customizable in fabric or leather. Three base types – four-legged, stackable sled, and standard sled – broaden its flexibility. Recognized with multiple design awards, the GUBI 3D Chair is part of the permanent collection at MoMA in New York.
