Jupiter is a cutting-edge armchair designed by Pierre Gauriche in 1966 and now published by the Ligne Roset brand.

Jupiter is an armchair that has survived half a century maintaining the same appeal and unique style. The development of the monobloc seat, carried forward in many of Pierre Gauriche's projects, here translates into a design with an enveloping and welcoming shell. The high backrest with the upper part widened to better accommodate the head and the round shape are inspired by spaceships, hence the name dedicated to the planet Jupiter. In the internal part of the shell there are two symmetrical stitching buttons and a comfortable seat cushion in the same chosen covering. Swivel base in 8 mm thick steel, satin black epoxy lacquering.

Designed by Pierre Guariche

Pierre Guariche (1926-1995) has been a famous French designer and architect. Born in Paris, studies at the l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, getting a degree in 1949. Later on he joins Marcel Gascoin in his office presenting his first creations at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and Salon des Arts Ménagers. With a functionalistic approach, Guariche has been able to add a personal and innovative touch to design, answering to his time needs, using mass production techniques. Among his most beautiful creations, the 50’s series of lamp presented by Sammode Studio.
