Normann Copenhagen Knot Chair Designed by Tatsuo Kuroda

Japanese designer Tatsuo Kuroda designed the Knot chair for Normann Copenhagen, combining classic materials with modern aesthetic canons. The Knot chair is made of stained ash, and the backrest is assembled with paper rope joints. The Knot chair is delivered assembled.

The Knot chair presents a clean and simple interpretation of form that is meant to recall the classic furniture in vogue in the 1950s. It is the details that provide the overall impression, with prominent joints made of natural paper yarn, which simultaneously ensures a perfectly comfortable seat. The frame components are assembled from paper yarn, which gives good support and a beautiful visual appearance, and despite his Japanese training, Tatsuo Kuroda was inspired by the Scandinavian design tradition. The Knot chair, made of ash wood, has all the features one might expect from a chair, but with a modern Scandinavian look, where well-crafted craftsmanship goes hand in hand with good seating characteristics. The result is comfortable for both body and appearance.
