Delicate, refined and sculptural, Artemide's Lesbo lamp represents one of the symbols of Made in Italy lighting of the 1970s. The lamp's name is important, as it takes its inspiration from the Greek island of the same name where the famous poetess Sappho lived. Designer Angelo Mangiarotti honors the skilled techniques of glassmaking through this softly shaped and sensual table lamp. A simple polished metal annular base supports an elegant, mushroom-shaped, mouth-blown Murano glass diffuser. The white surface of the Lesbo lamp's diffuser features shades, which allow it to conceal the light source and direct the light beam upward. Ideal for placing on the table, desk, nightstand or an entryway cabinet, the Artemide Lesbo lamp gives a soft, warm and ethereal light that enhances and emphasizes the fascinating characteristics of glass.
