The renovation signed by Patricia Urquiola  of the via Durini showroom was an opportunity to present a preview of the new Cassina  collection that will be exhibited during the 57th edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

In these 50 years, the Milan showroom has been the subject of numerous interventions by the most famous names in Italian architecture. This year, during the design week, Cassina unveils a new project by Patricia Urquiola for the via Durini store, 50 years after its inauguration.

The Spanish art director has intervened on the via Durini showroom through a sequence of architectural gestures, divided into two phases, which first go to articulate the exhibition spaces and then connect them with the offices and the dome. The different environments interpret the new language 'In-store Philosophy 3' which sees materials and colors, which are used to make spaces and define the areas of conviviality and work.

Back Wing Urquiola

A perfect setting for the presentation of the Cassina innovations that will be exhibited during the Salone del Mobile 2018, the most important international event in the world of design and furniture.

Bowy sofa Urquiola

Among the Cassina innovations by Patricia Urquiola we find the Back-Wing chair and the Bowy-Sofa sofa. The chair combines woodworking and the materiality of leather for an extremely comfortable design seat. The modular sofa, with soft and welcoming curves, is characterized instead by the rounded armrest that joins the back that protrudes with respect to the modules of the seat.

Ordinal Anastasiades

An absolute news is the presence of Michael Anastassiades , at his first project for Cassina. The Cypriot designer signs Ordinal, a sculptural range of contemporary solid oak dining tables that combines the typical metalwork of Anastassiades with Cassina's carpentry work.

Tavolo Cotone

The Bouroullec  brothers' Cotton collection, which includes a table, a wooden chair and a version of the armchair with a lighter padding, stands out for its essential design and its extruded aluminum structure featuring sophisticated industrial details.

There will also be space at the Salone del Mobile and in via Durini also for few editions of the Feltri armchair by Gaetano Pesce , which shows an avant-garde design even 30 years after its first edition; a reconstruction of the Maison du Bresil room and the Tabouret stool by Le Corbusier ; the Taliesin 1 armchair by Lloyd Wright; the 905 chair and the Maralunga 40 Maxi sofa by Vico Magistretti ; the Beugel chair by Reitveld; the Mexique table by Perriand and the Volage EX-S by Philippe Starck .
