Desalto, sculptural functionality
When formal cleanliness meets research excellence and technical performance: this could be the paraphrased motto of Desalto, which was founded in Lombardy in the 50s by Orsenigo family and has since produced aesthetically refined and above all functional items. Tables, consoles, chairs, furniture and design elements for outdoor spaces, all characterised by clean and sculptural lines that behind their apparent simplicity conceal sophisticated processes. Laser cutting, welding, powder and liquid coating: these are some of the most cutting-edge technologies used by Desalto and able to enhance the quality of the various materials.
Clay table is a perfect example that illustrates the constant research conducted by Desalto. Designed by Marc Krusin, it won the Iconic Design Award 2016 for its innovative line. Versatile, it will add a touch of character to both indoor and outdoor environments with its combination of aesthetics and functionality. Clay is available in several versions, including the one that made it famous, with top covered with special lava stone pastes spread by hand using a broad knife.
The iconic Element series by Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka is characterised by a similar combination of unusual shapes and volumes in equilibrium. It is the result of his visionary fantasy and Desalto's mastery in metal-working and includes chairs, tables, coffee tables and consoles with a single central sloping support inspired by the extraordinary structure of minerals and quartz.
Riga chair, signed by Pocci + Dondoli, is another synthesis of simplicity and harmony of proportions. Light, stackable, strong, comfortable, versatile - with its almost whispered elegance, Riga has all the characteristics of the ideal seating.
Sail System by Caronni Bonanomi is as essential and light and can be used in offices, domestic and contract spaces to hold your television sets.
