The armchair is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Mexican skull, one of the symbols of the Day of the Dead. According to the tradition, indeed, the skulls are hand-painted with typical signs, in the same way Gufram’s artisans made unique the Jolly Roger Calavera armchairs, realized in roto-moulded plastic, drawing on the surface: crosses, flowers, bones, teeth and lace.Once again Gufram proposes an ironic and unconventional object, covering a daily use piece of furniture with deep meanings like the armchair that is further embellished by the illustrious signature of Fabio Novembre and handcrafted decoration.

In reality, El Dìa de Los Muertos is an event celebrating the life because refuses the mourning or sadness which could disappoint the dead, and instead it celebrates their life through pleasant activities. Everything starts with the idea that death is a step of life path, from the birth to childhood and to his entry into the community. From here derives the tradition of decorating skulls and skeletons; only for a day the dead come back on the earth to stay with their beloved and participate in the celebration.
