For Valentine’s day, the design becomes romantic: indeed, many projects are meant for two and invite to share. We selected those pieces of furniture that work alone, but give their best when in two.

1. He / She

He & She by Mater

He and She chairs (on the cover) are designed by the Danish architect Eva Harlou for  Mater and launched to celebrate the German architect Walter Gropius who founded the Bauhaus school in 1919. The seats express elegance and functionality and they are made of oak and rattan.

2. Compact size and lightness

Fred by Fritz Hansen

The latest collaboration between  Jaime Hayon and  Fritz Hansen draws inspiration from pelicans’ broad wings and gently curved silhouettes.  Fred lounge chair is characterized by the defined shape of Danish craftsmanship with gently rounded edges. The result is an accentuated appearance and a feeling of grace and lightness. Among the iconic seats the new version of the Fritz Hansen Series 7 ™ Chair Velvet Edition is the protagonist alone or in pairs.

3. Soft shapes

The maxi armchair  Nuvola 09  by Paola Navone for  Gervasoni has a soft and ironically plump line, with high armrests and deep seat. With a soft and enveloping look, it creates an intimate corner, sitting one in front of the other, wrapped in the soft shapes of the back and cushions.

In addition to being the result of a careful ergonomic study, Lady represents an icon of modernity as the result of an innovation that overturns the traditional system of upholstery manufacturing.

6. Uncommon chair

Nepal by Baxter

Nepal  armchair by Baxter, with its modern design signed by Paola Navone, is made sophisticated and eccentric by the soft Mongolian upholstery which gives an original and exuberant appearance. The structure is simple and essential, almost hidden by the soft and long fur of the seat and backrest.

7. Bright spheres

Swoon by Fredericia

Space Copenhagen  designed the  Swoon  armchair for  Fredericia to bridge the gap between a conventional armchair and a typical armchair. The organic but structured design keeps the body seated and offers an instant sensation of relaxation offering excellent back support.

8. Perfect sculpture

IC by Flos

IC  suspension lamps by  Flos originate from a suggestion had by the designer Michael Anastassiades, while viewing the video of a juggler performing in a dynamic number with some spheres. The creativity of Anastassiades went further, he "immobilized" the spheres giving life to this original line of lamps, in which the lighting body is elegantly suspended on a support.
