Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai 2017: China gets a taste of Italian design
The Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai 2017 ended yesterday. Following last year's success, the organizers of one of the most important international events in the industry have decided to replicate the 3-day-initiative at the Shanghai Exhibition Centerto create a commercial and cultural bridge between Italian companies and the Chinese market.
Italian design has thus landed in China, bringing the excellence of Italian furniture and the essence of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, internationally renowned as a benchmark in the furnishing and design industry.
With a broader exhibition venue and the participation of over 100 top Italian brands, the Shanghai Fair has proven to be a winning choice thanks to the participation of many design enthusiasts and buyers. Organized by Federlegno, the event has a unique protagonist, Italian furniture, with its distinctive elegance, quality and versatility.
Three different design proposals were presented - Classic, Design and xLux - along with the famous SaloneSatellite, dedicated to young designers under 35, as well as Master Classes with internationally renowned architects and designers.
Claudio Luti, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, explained the importance of the event, highlighting the attention that Chinese operators have shown towards Italian design and the opportunities for collaboration that will come from this second meeting that will hopefully strengthen the relationship and communication between China and Italy from a business and cultural perspective.
Italian furniture companies and manufacturers have had the chance of representing Italian charm, history and values, bringing their icons and latest items to Shanghai and making Italian furniture accessibile to Chinese enthusiasts.
The extraordinary quality of Italian products has made this second edition of the Salone del Mobile. Milan Shanghai a veritable success, laying the foundations of a commercial and creative relationship with a resources-rich country.
