It has the iconic name of a famous model of the 60s, with whom it shares the signature thin silhouette: Twiggy is not just a lamp, but a veritable symbol of Italian design.

Designed by Marc Sadler for Foscarini in 2006, it was born from a reflection on the potential of the material. The French-born designer, who had already won the Compasso d'Oro with Foscarini in 2001 for Mite e Tite, resumes the flexible shape of an international symbol of lighting design, Achille Castiglioni's Arco by Flos, adding an even more modern twist with innovative materials and techniques.

The lamp base is in glass fiber, the diffuser and the stem are made of a composite material, while the upper disc diffuser is in translucent polycarbonate: This transparency will allow you to have a double light emission, direct and indirect. The recent LED version maintains the same light temperature, to ensure the same atmosphere given by the original lamp, but with a greater durability. What's more, the height of the diffuser can be varied thanks to a system of counterweights, for a variety of usage options.

Next to the floor lamp, the family includes a ceiling model, a suspended version, a table version, even in XL size, and a reading lamp, all united by the same expressive power, the same signature shape, the rounded stem that's similar to a fishing cane, which in fact was Marc Sadler's first source of inspiration.
