Medusa is a suspension lamp by Jacopo Foggini in which you can fully grasp the love he has for the sea, a central theme in many of his works.

Working for the family business, Jacopo Foggini discovers the versatility of methacrylate, a material generally used in the production of car reflectors. Enchanted by the aesthetic and chromatic qualities of this thermoplastic resin, similar to glass but tremendously light, Foggini began experimenting with its use in the late 1990s. With a machine of his own invention, Foggini melts methacrylate, and then polycarbonate, at 200 ° C, transforming it into a filament which he then shapes with his hands, creating luminous forms and monumental works: labyrinths of colored light, blurring the boundaries between drawing. “The speed of execution is almost the same as that of glass, however with my materials I can shape extremely light monumental works”.
