Molteni&C MHC.2 Bookcase Designed by Yasuhiko Itoh

MHC.2 is a refined bookcase designed by Yasuhiko Itoh for the Molteni&C brand, as part of the Heritage Collection reissuing project, for the creation of the historical archive and of the Molteni Museum. MHC.2 is entirely made of curved wood covered in Canaletto walnut. Available in two sizes.

The first sketch of this iconic bookcase appeared in 1959, when the Japanese designer conceived a furnishing element in curved wood, an elaborate workmanship for the time. In a short time, MHC.2 conquered the international audience, also winning the 3rd edition of the Selective Cantù Furniture Exhibition in the same year. Following a first limited edition of only 100 numbered pieces, MHC.2 entered officially the market, produced by the Italian company. MHC.2 is proposed in two heights to create modular compositions or partition walls.
