The italian designer Gino Sarfatti designed the lamp Model 537. This beautiful table lamp is produced by the famos brand Astep. Is available in different elegant finishes. Spun aluminium reflector, brass structure, marble base.
In its refined simplicity, the lamp Model 537 stands out owing to the combination of rich materials and ingenious, playful design. The large aluminium reflector in black or white is mounted asymmetrically on a lacquered or brushed brass stem, which is carefully twisted in a beautiful balancing act, coming to rest on an elegant marble base. As a vital part of the design, the stem reaches out through the reflector and beyond in a backward motion, giving the top of the stem a dual function as playful feature and practical handle.

Born in Venice in 1912, Gino Sarfatti studied aeronautical engineering but after his first encounter with the lighting design in Milan, during an engineering project for transforming a glass vase into a lamp, he found out his passion for lighting, destined to shape his whole life. He founded the company Arteluce that starts a new way of creating lighting systems with a groundbreaking design. His double approach as engineer on one hand and as designer on the other hand reflects itself in a beautiful and functional aestethics, given by the use of innovative materials, advanced lighting technologies and production techniques. Gino Sarfatti, with the creation of over 700 lamps, is considered one of the most representative figure in the history of the Italian industrial design.
