Moka Alessi 1 cup - Red

In 1930, Alfonso Bialetti founded the Bialetti company and launched the famous "Moka Express" design, which has become one of the most popular and widely used coffee tools in the world.

In 2011, Alessi commissioned designer Alessandro Mendini to pay tribute to this icon, asking him to design a new version of the coffee maker for the company: the Moka Alessi. Thus, the Moka Alessi came to life as a reinterpretation of the historic Moka, with a modern design characterized by elegant and refined curves. The goal of the project was to make an iconic product accessible to a wider audience.

The coffee maker is made of cast aluminum, with a red thermoplastic resin handle and knob. Its reinterpretation of the classic model is presented in an elegant gift box designed by Mendini Studio.

Not compatible with induction cooktops.

Alessandro Mendini (1931-2019) was one of the great italian designers, architects and artists of postmodern design between the ‘60s and ‘70s. His revolutionary, visionary and ironic style is concretized in artworks destined to become real design icons. Among them, the Proust armchair for Magis, a work of Re-Design characterized by a romantic, baroque and distinctly ludic style and the world-famous Anna G. bottle openers for Alessi, for which he also was meta-project consultant.
