Knoll Muecke Chair Designed by Jonathan Muecke

The Muecke chair, designed by Jonathan Muecke for Knoll, is a reflection on the language of construction applied to solid wood. Entirely composed of cylindrical laths, it is distinguished by the precise intersection of the elements, which generates a rigorous and legible structure. Each component is reduced to the essential, without decorative compromises, with the intention of enhancing the raw material and the precision of the workmanship.

The slightly inclined backrest and the seat defined by studied proportions introduce a dry ergonomics, functional but never intrusive. The ends of the slats, deliberately left visible, highlight the wood grain and reinforce the visual coherence. The joints, always evident, become the focal point of the design: they do not conceal the technique, but integrate it into the design, giving identity to the entire collection.

The Muecke chair sits between object of use and formal research, capable of fitting into contemporary or more traditional environments with a measured presence. The form speaks an essential language, capable of dialogue without overlapping with space.
