Nelson Bubble Lamp is a collection of lamp created by George Nelson and produced by the brand HermanMiller. George Nelson was inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish hanging lamps when he originally designed the Bubble Lamp series in 1952.

In charming spherical silhouettes, the Nelson Bubble Lamps add a touch of softness and luminosity to interiors. The Bubble Lamps were first designed in 1952, when Nelson was impressed by a set of Swedish hanging lamps. Their prohibitive price prompted Nelson to design his own in a way that made them more affordable.

Designed by George Nelson

George Nelson, architect and designer, was born in 1908 in Hartford, Connecticut. He graduated in architecture from Yale University and perfects his training at the American Academy in Rome. Became famous for his innovative publications, has introduced the concept of "family room". Thus begins his collaboration with the company Herman Miller and subsequently Vitra in 1957 and soon became a key figure in American design and a founding father of modernism USA. His works, functional and fanciful, are immortal and exhibited in design museums around the world. He died in New York City in 1986.
