The Nuage bookcase, designed by Charlotte Perriand and produced by the Cassina brand, is a modular system designed to adapt to different configurations: wall-mounted or double-sided, suspended or free-standing. The structure allows installation in the centre of the room or along the wall, transforming the space into a dynamic surface where each module contributes to a balanced whole.

The design is based on the idea of an open form, articulated through the repetition of vertical and horizontal elements. The arrangement of shelves and supports creates a visual grid that organises, subdivides and highlights objects, leaving ample room for the definition of customised compositions. Nuage does not merely contain: it builds a rhythm, drawing the empty as much as the full. The variety of materials - natural or black-stained oak for the shelves, anodised or painted metal for the structural elements - contributes to the visual effect while maintaining formal coherence.
