Paper Planes is a collection of chairs signed by designers Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, in 2010, for Moroso brand. Of oriental inspiration, this swivel armchair is light and strong, modern and comfortable. Presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2010.

Paper Planes The chair is made of different versions and coatings, but the thrust of inspiration is the same: the oriental theory of origami. The art of paper folding is intact the basic idea of the designers for the creation of the chair. The basic idea of the fabric is folded graph paper, and the seat is removable. Paper Planes features a steel structure cold expanded polyurethane coating. The Jacquard lining also gives a sense of playfulness to the item of furniture, whimsical and original as you know to be Moroso.

Designed by Doshi Levien

Founded in 2000, the design studio Doshi Levien is formed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, a real-life couple, an union of two perfectly complementary souls: Nipa brings in her Indian origins along with her feminine and narrative touch; Jonathan his functional approach and his deep knowledge of industrial design, derived from his past experience as cabinet maker and apprentice at Ross Lovegrove’s studio. They are based in London, the perfect example of that melting-pot spirit that pervades all their creations signed for international brands, such as B&B Italia, Hay, Moroso and Nanimarquina.
