Molteni&C Piroscafo Bookcase - 30th Anniversary Designed by Luca Meda-Aldo Rossi

Piroscafo is an iconic bookcase designed in 1991 by Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda for the Molteni & C. brand. For its 30th Anniversary, Piroscafo is presented with a new lacquered facade in the Spice finish with eucalyptus wood interiors.

Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda designed an important piece of architecture; a large facade featuring regularly spaced windows and inspired by the Regione Umbria headquarters facade in Perugia, an elegant and impactful glass bookcase. For thirty years, Piroscafo has been furnishing interiors in Italy and around the world, without noticing the passage of time, on the contrary, materials and finishes go hand in hand with technological advancement, without departing from the original design of the two architects.

The new Spice shade of the external structure of Piroscafo, designed to celebrate its first appearance at the Salone del Mobile 1991, responds to the trends of contemporary design, a warm and current color, while the eucalyptus wood of the interiors gives it a natural touch.
