Cappellini Pyramid Chest of Drawers Designed by Shiro Kuramata

Pyramid is a chest of drawers on wheels designed by Shiro Kuramata and produced by the Cappellini brand. The structure is made of transparent acrylic resin, it contains 17 drawers of different sizes, made of black acrylic resin.

Shiro Kuramata is undoubtedly the master of modern Japanese design; since the post-war period his creations have conquered the world, and his style has become instantly recognizable and always consistent. Kuramata has based his entire designer career on abstract concepts and bold choices, allowing himself to be won over by unusual and technologically advanced materials. Light and transparencies, balances and bold shapes, ethereal and surreal charm, the Pyramid chest of drawers is a concentrate of Kuramata's creative flair. This truncated pyramid-shaped stack of drawers combines Japanese elegance and simplicity with the modernity of contemporary materials and techniques.

The entire container rests on black rubber wheels with a chrome-plated metal casing, a dynamic innovation and an abandonment of staticness for a piece of furniture designed in 1968, and now in the collections of the most important modern art museums.
