The S 32 chair combines form and function in an extraordinary way; designed by the famous architect and designer in 1928, the S 32 represented a turning point in furniture design. For the first time, Breuer used curved steel tubes to create a chair. This bold approach resulted in a unique and unmistakable form characterized by clean, essential and elegant lines. The curvature of the tubes gives the chair a surprising sinuosity, combined with ergonomics designed for maximum comfort. The backrest and seat, made of India cane, fit perfectly to the body, offering optimal support. The S 32 chair has been enthusiastically received since its inception and is still considered a work of art in the design world. Its influence is reflected countless times in the creations of subsequent designers, demonstrating its relevance and durability over the decades.

Marcel Breuer stays between designers and architects that made '90s history. Born in 1902 a Pécs in Hungary, he studied art in Wien and later he interrupted his studies to access “Staatliches Bauhaus" school in Weimar. After a period in Paris, he came back to the Bauhaus school as a professor. During the Nazi period was forced to move to England and then he started to teach architecture at Harvard University. Among the most important collaborations, the one with Thonet and Knoll produced collections of tables, chairs, and armchairs of timeless design. Marcel Breuer died in New York in 1981 leaving a mark in the design history.
The brand Thonet, known worldwide as the result of an almost bicentenary tradition, is one of the furniture’s historic producers in the design’s world. Founded in 1819 at Frankenberg, in Germany, in the ’30s reaches the peak of success: brilliant Bauhaus’ members including Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam and Mies van der Rohe start to work for Thonet producing historic design pieces. The use of the solid wood bending innovative technique introduced in 1859 and the use of tubular steel makes the famous Thonet chairs unique along with the tables, the desks and the other pieces of furniture. Today Thonet adds new models made by internationally famous designers to the historical ones. Mohd is Thonet official partner.
