A distant Christmas 1967 and the idea of Dario Bartolini to create iconic objects using landscapes and characteristic elements of the Italian Riviera. An idea, developed in the house of Giliberto for Lucia Marazzi, near Roccamare, carving with difficulty the plexiglass that was difficult to cut without laser technology, but not for this sin of precision. The base, in fake marble, which supported an old PVC drain pipe with a transformer inside. A creation subsequently entrusted to Poltronova, in those Florentine studios that have seen objects become icons of Italian and world design.
The name will then be Sanremo, in homage to those tall palm trees that host the super popular Italian music festival.
The story of an idea, made today with quality materials and peculiar techniques, but which still maintains the same philosophy as that Christmas 1967.

The Archizoom Associati studio was founded in 1966 in Florence by 4 architects: Andrea Branzi, Gilberto Corretti, Paolo Deganello and Massimo Morozzi, who were joined by Dario and Lucia Bartolini. The studio is one of the most influential players of the radical architecture movement. The group embodies the idea of architecture and a playful, multicolour design, supporting creative processes in the architectural development and design, simplified from objects like the iconic Superonda sofa made by Poltronova.
Poltronova since 1957 loves to amaze with its unusual design, establishing itself as one of the most revolutionary and important realities in the furnishing sector of the Sixties to the present day. Founded by Sergio Cammilli in Agliana, Tuscany, it immediately stands out for its originality and its extraordinary team of designers: from the great masters like Ettore Sottsass who was its art director, Gae Aulenti, Paolo Portoghesi, Giovanni Michelucci, Angelo Mangiarotti, the Archizoom, the Superstudio and De Pas – D'Urbino – Lomazzi to the protagonists of the “Nuovo Design” which were then called radicals. Among the most famous products, the Joe armchair and the Superonda Poltronova modular sofa are considered works of art in the world of design, real icons to place in the domestic spaces and beyond. Since 2005, the Centro Studi Poltronova was born, with the aim of building an archive of important documents relating to the historic Poltronova brand and at the same time continuing to edit its most famous products. Mohd is Poltronova's official partner.
