Silhouette Kilim Rug

Silhouette is a collection of rugs for indoor and outdoor designed by Jaime Hayon for the brand Nanimaquina. The indoor version is Made out of 100% Afghan wool with 100% New Zealand Wool for the handmade embroidery.

Differently from the Handtafted outdoor version made in India, the indoor version is made following the Hand Loom Kiilim technique and is entirely produced in Pakistan. The Silhouette collection is a series of rugs made by beautiful imaginary compositions with touch of colors that fills nine different faces. Such faces are distributed following the rugs angles, so that from each directions the rugs drawings appear uniform and well distributed. The rugs are meant to transmit a sense of well being in any environment, both indoor and outdoor, creating endearing modern design spaces that recreates the imagination of the designer.

Fiber 90 % Hand spun, Afghan wool + 10 % New Zealand embroidery wool. Technique Hand loomed Type Kilim. Density 48,000 yarns/m2. Total height 4 mm. Weight 1.90 kg/m2.

Designed by Jaime Hayon

Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974 and as a teenager he was into skateboarding and graffiti art. He went on to study industrial design between Spain and France and after that he was admitted to Fabrica, the Benetton-funded design and communication academy in Italy, where he later directed the design department until 2003. In 2000 he set up his own studio and since 2003 he has fully devoted himself to his personal projects, becoming one of the most accalaimed designers worldwide. Time magazine included him as one of the 100 most relevant creators of our times and Wallpaper* magazine has awarded his innovative style listing him as "Breakthrough Creator".
