Vitra Soft Pad EA 208 Conference - Swivel Chair Designed by Charles & Ray Eames

The Soft Pad series, created by Charles & Ray Eames for Vitra, reinterprets the Aluminium Chairs by introducing slim cushions that transform the essential aesthetic into a softer seating experience. The Soft Pad Chair is defined by three padded elements attached to the structure, with precise stitching that highlights its constructive clarity.

Both the side profiles and armrests, in die-cast aluminium, are available in coordinated finishes – polished, chromed or powder-coated – ensuring visual consistency. On the back, carefully considered colour combinations complement the front upholstery, creating a discreet balance between surfaces and materials.

The EA 205, EA 207 and EA 208 versions express the project with different proportions while maintaining the same design identity. The combination of a light structure and a welcoming seat makes the Soft Pad Chairs well-suited for conference rooms, executive offices and representative spaces.

Available with leather or fabric upholstery and in a wide range of colours, the Soft Pad Chairs adapt to both formal and contemporary interiors, remaining faithful to the original vision of the Eames and their experimental approach to design.
