T37 chair is a chair absolutely iconic, a true legend of industrial design. Tolix is an icon of the aesthetics industry for nearly a century. All credit goes to the designer Xavier Pauchard that he used for the first time, in France, stamped steel and zinc for the production of furniture products in the series. The T37 chair's history begins in 1935 when Paris issued tenders for the 24th Universal Exposition in 1937. Over 12,000 chairs were made to furnish public gardens. Approaching its 90th year, its timeless design fits modern gardens and interiors. A warm color palette enhances its strong identity.

Xavier Pauchard (1880-1948) was an enterprising and visionary French entrepreneur, founder in 1927 of the Tolix brand and author of the A Chair, the chair symbol of industrial design. Pauchard was one of the pioneers of galvanization in France: at the base of his work there was the realization of metal objects for domestic use coated with another metal in order to protect it from corrosion. The different models of chairs, armchairs, stools and metal furniture (rust-proof, sturdy and stackable) conceived by Xavier Pauchard found a place directly inside factories, offices and hospitals, as well as outside, on the terraces of cafes and parks public.
