Vitra Tip Ton RE Chair Designed by Edward Barber-Jay Osgerby

Tip Ton RE is a chair by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby for Vitra. Made of recycled polypropylene, itself 100 per cent recyclable. Sliders made of recycled polyethylene.

The design duo wanted to develop a version of the famous chair proposed by Vitra, in response to the ever-increasing demand for environmentally sustainable products. The material used comes from recycled household waste. The use of this raw material instead of primary petroleum-based plastic generates 54% fewer climate-damaging emissions. Tip Ton RE can be tilted forward a few degrees from the normal position, which straightens the pelvis and spine.

Tip Ton RE is suitable for outdoor use: special additives retard colour fading due to UV radiation. However, if the chair is exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods, the colour may change over time. Limited exposure to sunlight is recommended. The Tip Ton RE chair is stackable up to 4 chairs on the floor and up to 11 chairs on a transport trolley. Stacking trolley available separately.
