Tonella Sofa has been designed by Note Studio for Sancal. It has fixed upholstery and metal base, available in different finishes.

Sancal started out manufacturing classic, French-style chairs. Four decades on, we have decided to revisit our origins and borrow from the past. The Swedish design Studio Note cleverly reinterpreted our Marie Antoinette-style vanity chair last year. After receiving an excellent reception, Note have added a new member to the family: thus our petite Tonella has presented the birth of its parents. Spanish wine barrels remain the inspiration for the new, larger sofa and armchair. The straight line quilting runs down the outside of the piece, like staves, contrasting with the smooth interior cushions

The Stockholm-based Note Design Studio was founded in 2008 and deals with interior design, architecture, graphic design and strategy. The name choice is not random: it evokes the idea of “taking notes”, a strategy employed by the studio. From lighting to furniture, Note Design Studio works with renowned brands such as Menu, Fogia, La Chance, Sancal, favoring a sophisticated, delicate, and yet powerfully expressive style.

Founded in 1973 in Yecla by da Santiago Castaño Carpena, the Spanish company has been realizing furniture that brings comfort and beauty in the enviroments for over 35 years.
