Poltrona Tria is a lounge chair designed by Carlo De Carli and now reissued by Gubi. Created in 1973 in collaboration with Vittorio Bonacina, it stands among the architect’s final furniture projects before his focus shifted entirely to teaching. Gubi’s re-edition preserves the original identity, enhancing proportions and materials through a contemporary lens.

The design explores the structural and tactile qualities of rattan, a natural material that De Carli approached with curiosity and precision. The frame is composed of steam-bent canes, carefully interwoven to achieve a balance of lightness and stability. The armrests, shaped from three distinct elements, follow a graceful curve that defines the character of the piece. The seat, reinterpreted with a rattan grid, replaces fabric while maintaining material consistency.

Production requires high-level craftsmanship: each cane is hand-selected and shaped to ensure uniformity and precision.
