Iittala Ultima Thule Pitcher Designed by Tapio Wirkkala

Ultima Thule is a collection by designer Tapio Wirkkala in 1968 for the brand Iittala. Made of blown glass effect, inspired by the melting ice in Lapland, each piece will be unique and no one equal to the others.

Ultima Thule is one of the icons of Finnish design of the glass. The organic image of the surface of Ultima Thule is the unmistakable touch of the master of design Tapio Wirkkala. The latter applied to better the skills of the craftsmen making the original and organic surface Ultima Thule by a mold carved in wood.
