637 Utrecht Baby

Designed in 1935 by Gerrit T. Rietveld and now proposed in a 30% smaller version, Utrecht Baby is the brand new armchair for kids proposed by Cassina. It has a structure in steel, polyurethane foam and polyester padding, fabric upholstery with white fine stitching. Its feet are in black plastic material.

Utrecht for kids is part of the "Great Masters" collection by Cassina - it keeps the same characteristics of the original armchair, such as the visible white stitching, and has been ergonomically adapted for children from approximately 3 to 8 years old. Utrecht Baby is available in an easy to wash yellow, red and blue eco-leather, the "pure" colours typical of the Neoplasticism movement and of many projects by Rietvield, as well as in two types of red fabric. A beautiful design gift idea for the little ones!

This model is only available in the blanket stitching version. The color of the stitching is only available in natural.

Gerrit Thomas Rietveld (1888-1964) was a Dutch designer, architect and craftsman. Considered one of the great masters of the last century, he established himself among the main exponents of the neoplastic artistic movement. Two personalities emerge from his works, that of the craftsman cabinetmaker who reinvents chairs and furniture according to his code and that of the architect with elegant formulas. Great works such as the Red and Blue, the Utrecht armchair and sofa made for Cassina, are the expression of a design that has eternal life.
