Bolia Zen Shaped Rug - Rectangular Designed by Studio Emily Broom

The Zen rugs are part of a project by Studio Emily Broom, winner of the 2020 Bolia Design Awards. The collection takes inspiration from the compositional balance of Japanese gardens, where every element serves a clear purpose. The design follows measured proportions, soft edges, and a visual language that avoids decorative excess. Each rug is handmade from 100% uncut wool, selected for its consistency, durability, and visual continuity. Due to artisanal production, slight variations in size may occur without affecting functionality. The compact surface and lack of ornamentation allow the rugs to blend into various interior settings without imposing a formal direction. The four finishes are suited to both neutral and more pronounced palettes, maintaining overall compositional balance. Zen rugs do more than mark out space—they help define the rhythm of the room.
