When a company like Zanotta  decides to vote for its new collection to everyday life and the most authentic emotions, it is a strong sign of the times. Times, in fact, full of intense emotional states lived between the home walls and in workplaces that change configuration. Back to emotions, as the company explains " is the sentiment of Zanotta's 2020 collection, which interprets the need for more authentic, empathetic design, introducing a renewed scale of values into the relations between persons, furnishings and the home". In the design substance this implies a return to the essence of the furniture, with elements that are easy to assemble and well-defined functionality. This approach translates into an elegant but simple aesthetic that renounces frills with the aim of putting the relationships that are experienced within the spaces at the center. The 2020 collection, therefore, includes those essential furnishings for living the house in a comfortable way, the "fundamentals" that are designed to last over time. On the cover Rider by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba.

Dove  sofa by  Ludovica+Roberto Palomba

Dove by Zanotta

The Dove sofa project designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba is direct and authentic: the large seats and generous cushions invite informal relaxation and welcome family and friends for moments of simple serenity. The visible feet are in graphite color painted cast aluminum alloy, the armrests open slightly outwards as if to welcome, because, to use the words of the designers, Dove is "A place to be yourself, in a cuddle, in a gesture of affection ".

Informal comfort is also the theme of Ludovica + Roberto Palomba's Rider swinging chaise longue, which can be read as a contemporary version of the rocking chair. A book, a plaid and the comfortable seat become the essential components for our moments of contemplation and reflection. Rider transforms a corner of the house into a space to dedicate to ourselves, to carve out moments of rest. The supporting structure is covered in leather, the removable quilt is covered in fabric. Craftsmanship and innovation enclosed in a precious furniture that immediately becomes the object of desire. In the image, also the new Nena seat by Lanzavecchia + Wai: a textile armchair designed as an enveloping and generous embrace, supported by the thin but strong steel frame.

Tucano writing desk by Monica Förster  Design Studio

Tucano by Zanotta

Tucano's theme is work from home: in a domestic context, the desk must abandon office aesthetics to adopt a more discreet one but with attention to detail, starting from the materials. Tucano, therefore, is a desk with the right dimensions and essential structure, defined by the designer as "almost primitive". The leather upholstery made of a single piece which acts as a work surface rests almost like a tablecloth on the curved matt black steel tube.

Ricordi  bed by  Spalvieri & Del Ciotto

Ricordi by Zanotta

In a collection devoted to the basic furnishings of the house, the bed could not be missing: the memory evoked by this project is that of the sheets hung out to dry, the memory of a simple but intense sensation. Just as the details of this bed are simple but effective: the upholstered headboard and bed frame for greater comfort, the sides of the wooden back, the feet in black painted steel.

Dan  chair by  Patrick Norguet

Dan by Zanotta

Dan is a double soul chair project: it revolves around a black or iron gray painted steel structure on which you can insert a classic and elegant leather shell (in the picture), or a seat and back made of colored elastic straps, more informal and with a high tech taste.
