Dynamic, innovative and creative, Shiro Kuramata is an important figure in the history of design.
Kuramata studied at the Tokyo polytechnic high school, refining and improving his knowledge. In 1965, he founded the Kuramata Design Office, officially entering the world of architecture and interior design. With Memphis, he came in contact for the first time with Italian design, and in 1987 he started working for Cappellini, introducing his functional Progetti Compiuti chest of drawers.
