Illuminate the house with wall lights
We often tend to consider the wall light as an alternative light source to the classic central ceiling light. Actually, wall lamps are always a precious addition to the lighting of an environment, because in addition to being decorative objects for the walls, they are also a source of soft, gentle and atmospheric light. And if the environments in which we are used to seeing it are mainly in transit, such as the entrance and corridor, in reality the appliques are perfect throughout the house. That's why we wanted to select some of the most interesting projects that become like jewels of light in all the rooms: from the entrance to the living room and up to the bedroom. Their dual function, of lighting and furnishing the walls, makes them a strategic resource not to be forgotten.
Fold Surface by
Fold Surface (on the cover) is a lamp to be composed of which four modules are available - with one, two, three and four elements - in four color variants: matt red lacquer, matt green lacquer, matt dark brown lacquer and off white lacquer opaque. Conceived in this way, the luminaire offers a great variety of compositions and the overall effect has great decorative power. The solution of installing the elements on two or more walls is also interesting, as if to create many constellations.
The architectural aesthetics, the matt painted or chromed die-cast aluminum structure, and the non-visibility of the light source, make Frame a real frame from which the lighting flows. A graphic sign with minimal elegance, ideal for those who need a discreet but characterful light. It works, for example, in period interiors where it is inserted as a contemporary but respectful note.
The style of the Hoxton lamp, designed by Autoban for CTO Lighting, is vaguely industrial and retro, thanks to the antique bronze of the supporting element. Minimal but full of character, it integrates perfectly in elegant but also informal environments.
Two moons suspended from the wall: this is the effect of the white opal blown glass spheres that characterize the IC lamp by Michael Anastassiades for Flos. But the detail of the frame in brushed and painted brass or chromed steel is also appreciated.
The Applique de Marseille is a "noble" lamp: designed by Le Corbusier for his own house in Paris, it has the shape of an hourglass and has a double light emission. In the black version it has a strong character and yet it adapts to different contexts. In this Amarchitecture project, we see it, for example, in the kitchen.
The name Sofì is a reference to “soffiare”, Italian for blowing and therefore to the glass processing used for this delicate lamp and gritty at the same time. The glass has an amber shade that enhances its artisan soul, as does the burnished brass frame. The image that comes to mind is that of the glass blower barrel, with the sphere taking shape.
The striped glass and satin brass give the Button lamp a vaguely modernist flavor. But the shapes are contemporary as well as the overall effect generated by the composition of several elements. Available in a round or oval shape, it is designed for environments where a soft light is desired, such as the bedroom, or an intimate corner of the living area.
