Taste of an elsewhere, desire for new colors and scents, for relaxed atmospheres, for joy. Bringing these suggestions into the home is not easy, because there is always the risk of exaggerating, falling into kitsch, or in any case choosing furniture and accessories that do not integrate in a balanced way with the context in which they are inserted. So how do you bring a touch of "tropical aesthetics" into your home? The solution is to focus on projects of high level and quality value, relying on companies and designers with proven experience. Playful but refined projects, lively but not superficial, the result of a skillful design and choice of materials and colors. We will than have objects at home halfway between furniture and art work, which will capture attention for their beauty and visual strength and will bring a breath of tropical light-heartedness into our daily lives.

1. Cabana  by Fernando and Huberto Campana for  Edra

Cabana by Edra

Iconic and exotic at the same time, the Cabana storage unit hides five circular shelves of decreasing size among its raffia branches. The hut, whose long threads are hand-knotted and fall soft on the floor, can be opened at any point to access the shelves. In short, a hut in the living room, but of design. A contemporary centerpiece piece of furniture, but also an exotic and evocative sculpture that captures attention and is able to attract the sympathy of the beholder. In addition, thanks to the shelves it is perfectly functional.

2. Zoe by Andrea Parisio for  Meridiani

Zoe by Meridiani

Designed for the outside, Zoe is however a perfect armchair to bring a touch of tropical atmosphere inside. With grace and elegance, which are expressed in the back and sides in braided rope as well as in the relaxed shape that invites a composed relaxation. The structure is in painted aluminum, and the cushions are large and enveloping but removable and water-repellent.

3. Cocoon Swing by Patricia Urquiola  for  Moroso

Like a precious chandelier, the Cocoon nest (on the cover) is suspended from the ceiling and manifests itself in the environment in all its kaleidoscopic beauty. Ironic, evocative, unique in its kind, it is a place of relaxation par excellence, but it is also one of the elements of Tropical, one of the most iconic collections of Patricia Urquiola. The structure is in tubular steel to which the colored wicker is woven, creating a graphic and structural pattern of great visual impact.

4. Calypso So  by Servomuto for  Contardi

Calypso by Contardi

And the Calypso suspended lamp designed by Servomuto for Contardi is perfect for an elegant interior to which you want to give a tropical twist. The inspiration is precisely the tropical aesthetic declined in Déco style and here the shapes are sinuous but defined, the surfaces made more interesting by graphic details, traces of color and small refined details such as the glass diffuser, the fabric cord and the upper brass hook. Each element is studied and consistent with the style of the lamp and the whole is evocative but contemporary.

5. Wild  carpet by Bertjan Pot for  Moooi Carpets

Wild by Moooi

The magic markers, mostly used by children, allow you to overlay different colors to give rise to all new colors. The design of this carpet has its origin in the experimentation of this artistic game and the result is a kaleidoscopic graphic that in organic shapes and colors reminds the colorful joy of tropical nature. The color combinations are courageous yet the whole is perfectly balanced, and creates an almost musical visual effect.
