In winter, there is just one imperative, warm up the environment with a touch of design. The perfect inspiration comes from the now famous Danish concept of hygge (pronounced "hoo-ga,"), associated with the ability to create a friendly, cozy and enveloping atmosphere. According to Pinterest, in 2017 it will be one of the most "hot" trends in home decoration.

For the Danes, which is no coincidence always leap to the top of the charts of the happiest people on the planet despite their long and cold winters, the first trick to make a home warm and comfortable is: candles. Hate pile? The now iconic collection of containers  by Mika Tolvanen for Muuto will make you think again. Produced using a recycled material derived from plastic bottles, they are colourful, functional and environmentally friendly.

And finally, the bonus item that will put a smile on your face during gloomy rainy days: the Lipstick  by Seletti Wears Toiletpaper, the collaboration between the Italian design brand Seletti and artists Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, who will also present a new collection of lamps at Maison et Objet 2017.
